Maintenance of PP-RCT piping systems
Maintenance of PP-RCT piping systems
Goodbye to high maintenance costs
Maintenance can be a major challenge with conventional metal pipes. Deposits and corrosion must be factored into the overall cost of these pipes, or the system, and repairing and replacing metal pipes can become expensive and labor-intensive over time.
In comparison, maintenance of POLYMELT PP-RCT piping systems is a breeze. In fact, most of our piping systems require little to no maintenance during their long service life.
Outstanding properties of PP-RCT piping
The properties of polypropylene are responsible for the amazing durability of our pipes. PP-RCT is chemically inert, meaning reacts to few if any chemicals inside or outside the pipe system. After welding, the joints acquire the same properties as the pipe itself, so physical stresses do not affect the joint. In addition, our multi-layer composite pipe construction dramatically reduces thermal expansion and can withstand consistently high temperatures.
Homogeneous connection – no leaks
By joining the pipes and fittings at a molecular level, the components combine into a single, homogeneous piece. There is no comparable risk of leakage as with mechanical fittings. This is precisely why our pipes require virtually no maintenance during their entire service life.
Our pipes are also highly resistant to corrosion and limescale, so no additional chemical treatments, coatings or sheathing are required.
Lower pumping costs with PP-RCT pipes
PP-RCT pipes also have a better coefficient of friction than metal pipes, which translates into lower pumping costs. POLYMELT pipes and fittings contain no toxic materials and do not emit volatile organic compounds (VOCs) or other hazardous substances, even when exposed to fire.
Sustainable thanks to long life and 100% recyclable.
Our environmentally friendly pipes work so well and for so long that they almost never need to be replaced and sometimes even outlast the buildings in which they are installed.
